EarthDay.org has organized a global clean-up operation. You can find and sign-up for a clean-up event on the website here.

You can also organize your own cleanup event and advertise it on EarthDay.org to encourage more people to join you.

It’s a really great way to meet up with like-minded people, learn new things, make new friends and make the world a better place. It really feels great to clean up the environment and see other people who are prepared to take action to protect the environment.

And you might find some crazy stuff while you’re there — particularly if your cleanup is on the beach where treasures sometimes wash up.
