It’s time to stop worrying about climate change.

Humans have been conducting an experiment with life by pumping billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the planet’s atmosphere every year for over a century.

Now we’re beginning to see the results of the experiment and people don’t like it. They want someone to stop it.

Jean Paul Sartre
I can always choose, but I ought to know that if I do not choose, I am still choosing Jean-Paul Sartre

It’s up to the government and businesses to solve the climate crisis. That’s what everyone says. But governments and businesses are a perfect reflection of the demands of the public. If you buy products made using fossil fuels, businesses will keep burning them. You don’t have to keep buying them. No one is holding a gun to your head.

If you choose not to make the changes you wish would happen in the world, remember you’re still choosing. You’re choosing to let someone else control the outcome of our world. You’re choosing apathy.

Apathy shall be the epitaph engraved into the tombstones of every hip douchebag who claimed to care so deeply about the world’s problems but couldn’t be bothered to make a single change to their lifestyles to alleviate those problems. They just carried on as normal. People who complained about climate change but still chose to eat meat and drive gas-powered cars. People who sighed at the site of plastic-poisoned turtles while munching on the very chocolate bars from which the poison wrappers came.

These are the shallow complaints of generations of hypocrites.

John Ruskin
What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do John Ruskin

Have you switched your home’s electricity to a renewable supplier yet?

If you haven’t already switched your home electricity to a 100% renewable supplier, it’s because you don’t really care about climate change. You like to say you care. You like to pretend you’re a good person when you’re chatting with your pals. But the fact is you’re a hypocrite.

It takes 5 minutes to switch. Do it online. The more people switch, the more money is diverted away from burning fossil fuels and into clean energy. And the better clean energy technology will get. You can make that choice. You can be part of making the transition happen now. You can work harder for the cause you say is so important.

Renee Descarte
To know what people really think, pay attention to what they do, rather than what they say Descartes

Have you subscribed to a carbon extraction service?

Sacrifice one of your fucking lattes this week and use the money to invest in carbon extraction technology. You can create a subscription right now online and your money will be used to power a working extractor that will remove carbon from the sky. The more people do it, the better the technology will become. This technology might end up being the last chance we have to save the lifestyles we demand so fervently, without a thought for how they’ll be repaid.

Still eating meat?

Really? You care so little about the planet burning, you’re not willing to sacrifice your pepperoni pizza to help save the world? Are you really that much of a dipshit? I guess you must be.

The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion Paulo Coelho

What have you done in your life to help prevent the forthcoming climate disaster?

Or are you just another one of those dickheads who says “it’s up to the government to prevent climate change”, or “I have no power, I’m just a person”, or “it’s the corporation’s responsibility to stop climate change”? Ah yes, those evil corporations. Always scheming.

The real problem is, you just don’t care.

Every decision you make is an opportunity to change the world. That’s the power you have. You can choose to take the opportunities or you can choose to let other people shape our future. If you choose the latter you give the future of our world to people who may not be as morally just as you’d want them to be. That would be your choice. You are choosing to give up the future of the world to other people. Because that’s how our world is shaped—by our decisions. Not just the big ones, but the small ones we make every day. And the ones we think we don’t make. So choose wisely. For our world is but a reflection of our determination to make the most virtuous decisions. How determined are you really?

Instead of pretending you’re a good person today, why don’t you try actually being a good person? It feels way better.

Imagine...

Imagine if 1 million people completed 100 Days to Save the World.

We would change the world.

It's possible.

Imagine how the world could be.

It's up to us to change it. Not someone else.
