Litter picking
Answer: Litter picking! You might dread the idea of this, but you might be surprised by how great it feels to get outside and do something positive in your local area.
Spend thirty minutes today picking up trash from the countryside, a local stream or the seaside. The aim is to prevent plastic from entering the ocean. Take it home and recycle it with the rest of your plastic recycling.
Microplastics
Even if you only save one piece of plastic from going into a river or the sea it could prevent it from breaking down into thousands of toxic microplastics that get eaten by wildlife.
