You can't expect anyone to listen to what you have to say if you're unknown and have no authority. Or can you? Check out this 'authority hack' anyone can use to influence people and become leaders...
If you want to be able to influence people you need to build a repertoire of authoritative, data-based knowledge to draw upon. Luckily there’s a simple hack for that…
Leadership books
All you have to do is pick the topic you want to become an expert on and make sure you read 10 pages per day from books written by experts on that topic.
There’s even a simple hack to make it easy for you to read several books per week. Try one of the new ’15 minute book apps’, like Headway to just get the key information you need, fast.

If you really want to stop climate change you need to understand it. You can’t make decisions based on assumptions. You need data, expert analysis and ideas.

If you want to become a leader, or otherwise have any say in the decisions we make as a society, you must be well informed.

You must read every day to assimilate information about the topics you want to shape. Every good leader must do this. Even if you start off with one page a day, it’s better than nothing. But you can’t expect anyone to listen to what you have to say if you’re not constantly building your repertoire of high-quality knowledge to draw upon.
